Due to rapidly growing data storage needs and lower RTO (Recovery Time Objective) requirements, a mid-sized law firm needed a new backup system to provide secure, redundant, and reliable recovery. Alura implemented their Acrus backup platform to meet all of these needs.
Offsite Enhancements: As well as continuing to backup data to the cloud, Alura implemented backup replication to the firm’s other location. This allows for quick recovery time in the event of one backup device failure or entire facility failure. All data can be restored to and spun up on a server from either location allowing users to continue working from any site with internet access in the event of a disaster.
Recovery Point Enhancements: Acrus allowed the firm to now recover critical data at 15 minute increments rather than the traditional once or twice daily increment. For minor recovery operations from issues ranging from viruses to accidentally deleted files, these operations can now recover points up to 23 hours closer than traditional backup.
Hardware Independence Enhancements: Arcus allows the firm to spin up backups on any capable hardware if need be. Since all backups are disk image based, and using Arcus tools, any server can be restored to any hardware, using a physical or virtual server if the need arises.
